Guarana - the natural stimulant
Guarana (Paullinia cupana) is a climbing plant that belongs to the group of soap tree plants. It is originated in the tropical rain forest. Long before the first settlers came to the Amazon the native tribes knew already about the value of this climbing plant with red fruits and dark seeds. They named it “warana” of which later was derived “Guarana”. They believed that the seeds (nuts) of Guarana obtained magical power and adored it as a holy fruit. They used to press the seeds to the form of compact stick and then pulverized it using the rough tongue of the Piracuru fish like a rasp. Dissolved in water it turns into a refreshing drink that serves as stimulating food substitution.
No cultivating is necessary to grow guarana. The seed are collected by hand and the drying is done by the sun. Before the production process starts, our guarana is regularly chemically controlled concerning its purity, substances and residues, in order to guarantee our superior class quality.
While drinking coffee can make us nervous, Guarana does not. It has a pleasant and stimulating effect on our body and soul. Its chief substance “caffeine” (also called guaranine) is slowly – that means gently - absorbed by the body due to its high amount of tanning agents and crude fibres. The stimulating effect might continue 4-6 hours without causing any side effects. Often it is said erroneously that the effects of guaranin and caffeine are completely different. The truth is that the name “guaranin” is simply an old form of “caffeine”. The high content of caffeine – 100 g of Guarana powder contain 3,5 % - has been criticized very often. But we have to take into account that no one would consume 100 g of Guarana powder at once! Usually it is only 1 g of powder and only 40 mg of caffeine. Only one cup of coffee, however, contains 80 mg of caffeine. The less powder you take, the less caffeine is in it.
If you belong to those to whom coffee does not agree with and you nevertheless want to enjoy its stimulating effect – take Guarana. If you belong to those who work in really hard and stressful jobs, like managers, journalists etc., and you want to raise your energy level naturally, Guarana is a good recommendation. If you are a truck driver, who is often on the road at night and does always want to drink coffee, you may achieve long lasting concentration by one portion of Guarana. All over Brazil Guarana is very much appreciated – football players, race drivers and even politicians regularly enjoy Guarana.
Recommended application: 1 g of powder mixed into any drink (relates to a caffeine portion of 35 mg = ½ cup of coffee)
Ingredients: Pure Guarana powder wildgrown
