For the dietetic treatment of osteoporosis. Foodstuff for special, medical purposes (balanced, complementary diet).
With osteoporosis there is an especially high dietetic need for calcium and vitamin D which cannot be covered with a common diet. If too little calcium is supplied through the diet, the body falls back on the calcium which is stored in the bones. The bones are constantly weakened by demineralisation.
Vitamin D3 stimulates and regulates the absorption of calcium from the food and stores it in the bones. Even healthy people without osteoporosis absorb vitamin D only in small amounts through the food. With sufficient solar radiation your body can produce vitamin D by itself, but both factors are not sufficient to counteract an existing osteoporosis.
Vitamin K stimulates the forming of a factor (osteocalcine) which is important for the bone structure. It is also involved in the biosynthesis of important bone proteins.
Soya isoflavones, also called phytooestrogens, have a favourable effect on osteoporosis and menopause complaints.
A dietetic supply of calcium, vitamin K and vitamin D3 combined with soya products, can have a favourable effect on an existing osteoporosis. It is impossible to incorporate the here necessary amounts of fatty sea-fish, milk and soya bean products in the daily diet. Therefore, Osteofit serves as a balanced complement to the special alimentation requirements of patients with osteoporosis and thus this supply gap is closed.
Each Osteofit portion bag contains: 800mg of calcium, 200mg of vitamin C, 70µg of vitamin K, 600 IU vitamin D3 and 50mg of soya isoflavones.
A special alimentation combined with Osteofit can have a favourable effect on an existing osteoporosis and can therefore increase the general well-being.
