Natural energy
The tree “hymenaea courbaril” is origininated in the tropical Amazon rain forest and in some regions of Central America. Our Jatoba tea is made of the inner bark of the tree, that produces bright green leaves, little red blossoms and oval brown edible fruits. In the Peruvian Amazon, it is called Azucar huayo, and the Brazilian name is Jatoba. It is an old traditional drink of the native Indian tribes (as is Lapacho, too) and is still appreciated as energizer by Brazilian lumberjacks, since it provides to them the necessary energy for tireless working.
According to Dr. Silva, drinking Jatoba tea makes anybody feel “strong and vigorous, developing good appetite and enduring active power.” Since 1930 Jatoba is also available as a liquid extract named “Vinho de Jatoba”. All over Brazil it is a popular natural energy drink.
Our Jatoba tea is gathered by “wild collection method” regarding preserving harvesting methods. In order to preserve the species, only a small part of the bark is taken away and after that sun-dried. Our Brazilian supplier is keen to provide quality, not quantity. He is doing his work with real passion and much experience. Constant excellent quality is his priority.
Referring to chemical analyses the Jatoba bark contains a remarkable concentration of mineral substances and trace elements, like manganese, soluble silicon and natural strontium, that is a main substance for our bone metabolism. It also contains a flavonoid called astilbine. According to clinical researches from the year 1997, astilbine has proved to be anti-oxidant and liver-protecting.
Recommended application: boil one big tablespoon of tea for 5 minutes in ½ l of water. Let it stand for 15 minutes. Sweeten with honey and add a little lemon juice, that optimally extracts the mineral substances
Ingredients: 100 % pure Jatoba bark, cut
