A bark tea from the rainforest
Already the Inca and other Indian tribes in Peru and Bolivia appreciated the lapacho bark because of its healthy effect. Additionally, the lapacho bark tea is tasty and digestible. It has a typical fine flavour. It can be drunk as refreshing tea and as home tea.
Lapacho is a red tea made of the inner bark of the tropical Tebebuia avellanedeae tree. This tree is originated in the rainforests between Mexico and Argentina and can grow 700 years old.
Our tea is produced in the region of the Brazilian Amazon regarding the principles of preserving harvest method, which means only a small part of the bark is taken in order to preserve the tree instead of destroying it. For the native suppliers, this tea is their bread and butter. The Lapacho tree is part of the place they live in – the rainforest. Our Brazilian supplier is doing his work with great passion and much experience. His chief target is not quantity, but superior quality.
Now we have realized that the wood industry has started to merchandize the Lapacho bark selling it at dumping prices on the international market. Please do not support those suppliers of cheap Lapacho tea, who in most cases get their ware from the wood industry! Native Lapacho-suppliers cannot compete with the dumping prices of the wood lobby, who carelessly devastate the natural resources just for cash reasons. How can we explain to our native suppliers that German importers on the one hand insist in adequate payment of their workers and nature preserving harvesting methods, but on the other hand - simply for price reasons - buy the cheap ware of the wood industry.
It was only 50 years ago that medical scientists found out an interesting thing: the remarkable various effects of the Lapacho bark. Lapacho tea contains an extraordinarily high portion of mineral substances and trace elements, like calcium, iron, potassium and also rare trace elements like strontium, barium, iodine, boron and others, which the human organism is often lacking of. Lapacho does not contain any pepping substances like caffeine in black tea. Due to its exceptional healing properties it is meanwhile an appreciated and recommended product all over the world. Even children may obtain a strengthened immune system with the help of Lapacho.
Recommended application: Boil 1 big tablespoon of tea for 5 minutes in ½ l of water. Let it stand for approx. 15 minutes. Sweeten with honey and add a little lemon juice, which optimally extracts the mineral substances
