Our body needs the vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid for the health maintenance of heart, arteries and vessels. These ones make a contribution to the maintenance of a low homocysteine level. Homocysteine is an endogenic substance which arises with the degradation of protein. The human body exactly regulates the amount of homocysteine. Every surplus of this unwanted indermediate is quickly degraded with healthy people and with a sufficient vitamin supply.
For this the vitamins B6, B12 and the folic acid which also belongs to the B-vitamin-group are needed. If these vitamins do not exist in sufficient amounts or if there are utilisation disturbances of these vitamins, it can result in an increased homocysteine level. The consequences of it have above all an effect on the blood vessels. Through a damage of the inner cell layer of the vessels (Endothel) the risk for vascular diseases increases and it comes to augmented occurrence of arteriosclerosis.
With an increased homocysteine level it exists an especially high dietetic need for vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid, which cannot be covered with the usual alimentation. Therefore Folic Acid plus B6 + B12 Capsules serve as complementary balanced diet for the special alimentation requirements of patients with a lack or utilisation disturbances of these vitamins.
Each capsule contains 15 mg of vitamin B6, 1,000 µg of folic acid and 500 µg of vitamin B12.
